You Are Not Alone!
Whether you’re a business owner, manager, sales leader, or even an entry level employee, it is important for you to understand that you are not alone. Even though sometimes you might feel that way, there are people all around you who can help you and support you.
We sometimes make jokes about how a man will drive around in circles for hours rather than stop and ask for directions. And the same thing is true when we’re on the job. We sometimes feel that, if we ask for help, it will be interpreted as a sign of weakness or inadequacy.
In fact, quite the opposite is true. Seeking assistance and support from our peers and/or mentors is a sign of wisdom. It is the surest way to build strength and stability, not only for yourself, but for your team.
There is a vast amount of knowledge within any organization and it is up to you to tap into that knowledge.
Asking for help and support might include…
· Can I ride with you today?
· Can I visit with you for a few minutes?
· Can I run an idea by you?
· Can I get your opinion?
Napoleon Hill said that when two or more people come together, operating in a spirit of harmony, seeking the same goal, they become more powerful than the sum of each one combined. This is what he referred to as a mastermind.
Sometimes a fresh set of eyes from a peer can be all it takes to bring clarity, resolution and closure. And it goes without saying that you don’t know everything there is to know (unless you are my brother in law).
So take advantage of those around you who can help you, guide you, support you, and cheer you on. They are there for you, just a
s you are there for them. Together, there is no situation you can’t handle or problem you can’t solve!
