Values for High-Performance Sales Teams

Values.  We have all heard the word, and it certainly can have different meanings depending on your perspective.  For this article, values refers to the principles or standards of behavior of a sales organization.  They are essential, as they embody the spirit and core beliefs on how the sales team operates and behaves.

We have also learned that sales organizations that have too many values are not able to leverage their impact. Defining those values that are the most essential for your teams is what works.  The values that follow are ones we have found the best sales organizations embrace.  Think about each and rate yourself or your team.

Questions to Reflect On

  • How many of these values are you embracing individually?  As a team?
  • For the ones you do embrace, how did you rate yourself?
  • What actions will you take to make values a core practice of your sales organization?

Remember, improving the customer experience begins by looking at yourself first.
